Intro to Ceramics and Underglazing

This 6 week introductory class requires no prior ceramics experience! We will cover hand building skills like pinching and coiling, use underglaze to decorate your wares, and learn how to glaze like a pro. Check out Stephanie's decorative sgrafitto* style on her instagram @luz_ceramics to get a glimpse of what you'll learn! *Sgraffito is a technique where potters can put a layer of underglaze on a piece of pottery, then use a carving tool to scratch at it to show the base layer of color. Sgraffito derives from an Italian word meaning “to scratch.”
